Sang H. Lee

Postdoctoral Associate

I am a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Minnesota. I received my Ph.D. from Seoul National University in 2017 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) before joining U of MN in 2018. I combine experimental (microfluidics) and numerical modeling to advance our fundamental understanding of the interplay between biological, physical, and chemical processes taking place in porous and fractured media. Especially, I am interested in how flow channel geometry impacts transport, mixing, and reaction in fractured media and how microbes behave in porous media.

Born in Seongnam, South Korea, I spent my high school and undergraduate years in sunny Florida, USA. Beyond the lab, tennis is my game of choice, offering a refreshing escape from research and a satisfaction boost as I fine-tune my skills. Also, I'm an adventurous cook, always exploring new recipes.
