Weipeng Yang

Postdoctoral Associate

I am a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Minnesota. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Tulsa in 2022. My Ph.D. dissertation was on investigating the effect of surfactants on multiphase displacement in porous media using microfluidics. Currently, I am combining pore-scale and core-scale experiments with numerical simulations to improve our fundamental understanding of coupled fluid flow and precipitation in porous and fractured media, which will provide new insights into Transport, mixing, and reaction in fractured media, Mineral dissolution and precipitation, and In situ carbon mineralization.

I was born and raised in Dongying, Shandong, China. In my spare time, I enjoy watching basketball games, working out, running and traveling.
