Guanju (William) Wei

Postdoctoral Associate

I am a Postdoctoral Associate who joined Professor Kang’s group in January, 2026. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 2025. My doctoral research focused on investigating how fluid flow influences bacterial biofilm formation using microfluidic platforms.

Currently, I am working on two main research projects. The first explores how fungi–bacteria interactions regulate mineral dissolution in porous media under flow conditions. The second project is related to Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR), with a focus on evaluating infiltration processes.

Outside of research, I am a history enthusiast. I enjoy reading historical novels, watching history documentaries. I am also an amateur Erhu player (Level 10 certification).
